Our group is carrying out research into explosion phenomena from the chemical point of view. Specifically, we are developing technology to make high-energy materials safe, investigating the mechanisms of runaway reactions, developing risk assessment technology, and formulating technical standards for the safe handling of high-energy materials. To analyze these phenomena, we are adopting computer-based chemistry methods and spectrographic technology and attempting to establish basic technologies for analysis methods. We are also accepting various requests and consultations on the part of private enterprise regarding chemical explosion hazards and conducting conscientious risk assessment, aiming at supporting the sound development of industry.
